Inspired by the iconic photographer\u2019s love of\nlayered textiles and distinctive style, Martyn Thompson\u2019s collection includes four vivid designs that\nemphasize Thompson\u2019s impressionist influences while maintaining all of the benefits of using Perennials\u2019\nhigh-quality solution-dyed acrylic yarns.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Reflective of his artistic vision, Thompson\u2019s collection is comprised of four new Tibetan Knot patterns:\nRose<\/em>, Splash<\/em>, Echo<\/em>, and Dream<\/em>. Each style takes on Thompson\u2019s penchant for moody patterns, yet\ntransforms his aesthetic into accessible designs. The patterns were designed to complement yet\ncontrast each other, resulting in fun color and pattern play for clientele.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Believing sophistication and chaos go hand-in-hand, Thompson\u2019s Splash <\/em><\/strong>style embodies a captivating\nsplatter paint theme. Splash <\/em>is available in a smoky Mushroom colorway, brighter speckled Mustard\ncolorway and a kaleidoscopic Rust colorway. Rose <\/em><\/strong>features an oversized image of a dreamy cabbage,\nresulting in an elegant yet dramatic design with three-dimensional quality that is available in the Tin,\nLichen, and Aubergine colorways. Offered in Tin, Winter, and Charcoal, Echo <\/em><\/strong>is Thompson\u2019s woodland-\ninspired design with gothic undertones and luxurious texture. Lastly, Dream <\/em><\/strong>is an abstract atmospheric\ndesign inspired by a distorted image of a pool floor from Thompson\u2019s archives. Dream <\/em>is available in two\ncomplementary colorways, Autumn and Winter.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Martyn Thompson is a perfect fit for the Perennials brand due to his passion for creating magical\ninteriors. Much of Thompson\u2019s previous work focuses on relation to the spaces around us, and how they\nreflect personal creativity. \u201cMy Perennials rug designs represent \u2018Best of\u2019 imagery from different stages in my career,\u201d explains\nThompson. \u201cI enjoy this idea \u2013 the \u2018unfolding of an image.\u2019 For instance, the Rose style was inspired by a\nphotograph of a cabbage I took 14 years ago on a rooftop garden in Los Angeles. The designs have a rich\nhistory in the source material so it is exciting to see these images now transformed into tactile rug\ndesigns.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Each rug design and colorway has been carefully designed by Thompson with approachable avant-garde\nstyle in mind. The collection is made from Perennials\u2019 100% solution-dyed acrylic yarns and resist stains,\nUV light and mildew, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They are luxurious, soft-to-\nthe-touch and are very easy to maintain and clean.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Photographer Martyn Thompson began his career making clothes before deciding to document them\ninstead. He worked as a fashion photographer in Paris prior to moving to London where his scope\nbroadened into the world of interiors and still life. Over the past 30 years Thompson has collaborated\nwith several designers, and authored two books, Interiors <\/em>and Working Space: An insight into the\nCreative Heart<\/em>.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
